Ona Rita Yufe, with 25 years of experience as a volunteer administrator, is currently offering seminars and support through her consulting business, Workshops by Design. She recently retired after 15 years with Kaiser Permanente Hospice in San Diego, and previously served as manager of volunteers with YWCA/Battered Women's Services, San Diego AIDS Project, and Planned Parenthood of San Diego County. Currently on the Board of Directors of San Diego DOVIA (Directors of Volunteers in Agencies), where she has been an active participant for many years, Ona is a recipient of DOVIA’s Volunteer Administrator of the Year Award. She trains both staff and volunteer managers locally and nationally in a wide variety of topics and issues.
An active volunteer herself, Ona received her bachelor's degree in psychology and masters in liberal arts at San Diego State University. Her article "When Volunteers Grieve" appeared in The Journal of Volunteer Administration. Her short article "Exercise Helps Convey Experience of Loss" appeared in The Volunteer Management Report.
