Deborah Witmer

Deborah Witmer is the past president of DOVIA of King County, Washington, and is a nationally recognized leader in volunteer management and organizational development. A trainer, facilitator, public speaker and consultant in areas including volunteer management, board development, public speaking, computer and internet use, HIV/AIDS, and civic involvement, she enjoys helping people and organizations reach their full potential through growth and change.

Through her business, Witmer Consulting Services, Deborah works with nonprofits and small businesses, specializing in database design and personal computer training; grantwriting and reporting; and other volunteer/NPO services. Based in Seattle, Washington, she is also available for keynote addresses, conferences, workshops, and customized training programs in the US or Canada.

Deborah also is extensively involved as a volunteer in her community and within Seattle City government. She currently serves on the Board of Creative Activities for People with Disabilities and on the Advisory Board of The Women's Building. In addition, Deborah currently fulfills the roles of President of the RainKing Neighborhood Association, and Representative to and Secretary/Parliamentarian of the City Neighborhood Council.

Deborah lives in Seattle with her four cats and her collection of Star Trek books and videos. As a strong proponent of using new technologies available to connect people and ideas, she is excited to be a part of this new venture.
