Michael S. Warburton is currently serving as the Associate State Director for Volunteer Development for the AARP Texas State Office. Michael holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from the University of Texas, as well as a Master of Science in Counselling Psychology. Before coming to AARP, Michael worked with several Texas Planning Council for Developmental Disabilities grant-funded projects, including the Consumer-Controlled Housing Initiative for persons with disabilities, and Healthcare Matters!, a project focused on assisting low-income families to navigate the Texas health care system. Michael has also served as the Volunteer Director for Family Eldercare, a nonprofit organization serving older adults and persons with disabilities in the areas of guardianship, money management, in-home care, and information and referral.
