Dr Annmarie Turnbull of the UK is the Director of Policy and Development at the National Centre for Volunteering, based in London. Annmarie has extensive experience as a volunteer, with work around gender issues, practical environmental issues and with her local residents' association. Annmarie has experience in the academic world and in general management. She has been involved in management of teams in social services and education departments in London and in academic research and teaching posts in sociology and community development. Her last academic post involved lecturing and researching in community development at the University of London.
