Beth Taylor-Dean worked as a Volunteer Manager at Crisis Fareshare until moving to Citizens Advice six years ago. She is the Volunteering Specialist at Citizens Advice and heads up the Volunteer Team. She has developed the volunteering strategy for Citizens Advice, actively developing and promoting the impact of volunteering to all 426 members of the Citizens Advice Bureaux.
Citizens Advice has over 20,000 volunteers involved in the service. Volunteers undertake a variety of roles in Citizens Advice Bureaux; 12,000 people are trained volunteers advisers who help people to resolve over 5.5 million new problems a year.
Taylor-Dean’s key aim is to increase the number and diversity of volunteers and the variety of roles available, so that Citizens Advice Bureaux can better serve and reflect the needs of their clients and communities. The team has been successful in securing funding to run a number of volunteering projects such as such as Millennium Volunteers, an Employee Supported Volunteering Project.
Taylor-Dean has always been an ambassador for volunteering. Throughout her life, she has been a volunteer for a variety of organisations from homelessness (volunteering for the Crisis Open Christmas) to environment and conservation (Beach clean ups and tree planning) to stewarding to name a few. She is a member of the national England Volunteering Development Council, and also a group member of NNVIA (National Network of Volunteer involving organisations).
