Pamela Robinson is the Director of the University of South Carolina School of Law Pro Bono Program (http://www.law.sc.edu/probono/). She is a graduate of Clemson University (BA, Elementary Education) and of the USC School of Law (JD). The Pro Bono Program is a nationally recognized, academic-based volunteer program integral to the professional development of law students. It is the first voluntary pro bono program at a US law school and has been in operation for 16 years.
Pamela is an active member of the South Carolina Bar, the Richland County CASA Project, the SC Associations of Volunteer Administration and many other local charitable organizations. She served on the AVA Credentialling Committee and The Journal of Volunteer Administration Editorial Board and continues to help in those capacities. In 2004 she received her CVA from AVA (Certificate in Volunteer Administration).
She has served on two Peer Consultations for the ABA Center on Pro Bono. She has been a part of the design committee for the annual ABA Equal Justice Conference for the past 5 years. In addition she is presently the Treasurer of the Association of American Law Schools Section on Pro Bono and Public Service Opportunities.
Pamela is the author of numerous articles on volunteer management and liability issues. She is a frequent trainer at state and regional conferences. Pamela was named the 1999 SC Volunteer Administrator of the Year and was presented with the 2000 Governor’s Volunteer Award for her leadership in the profession of volunteer management and her dedication to volunteerism. In 2005 she was named the National Volunteer Administrator of the Year by AVA. She is also the recipient of several SC Bar Pro Bono awards for her service to children and to the indigent population in SC.
