Rachel Nova is a nonprofit professional with international experience in refugee resettlement, women’s empowerment, and education. When she’s not volunteering, making art, or exploring beautiful Arizona, she’s finding opportunities to bring together her passions for social justice and innovative education.
After completing her BA in International Affairs at the University of Colorado in 2012, Nova served in the Peace Corps in Benin, taught English in Southern France, and served as the AmeriCorps VISTA Leader for the Arizona Refugee Resettlement Program. Following her years of national service, she worked at a refugee resettlement agency coordinating educational programming for refugee women in the greater Phoenix area.
Nova was awarded a Coverdell Fellowship at Arizona State University to pursue a master’s degree in Learning Sciences and a Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Leadership and Management. In addition to her studies, she worked as a Graduate Research Assistant for the Watts College of Public Service & Community Solutions and the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College. After completing her graduate program in Spring 2022, Nova hopes to continue building empowering educational programs for all.
