Stephanie Myers, the founder and executive director of Mind4Athletes (M4A), received her Masters of Public Administration degree at Villanova University, Villanova, PA. She was a celebrated soccer player through high school and during college at Villanova, winning games for her teams and honors for herself. The spring before her senior collegiate soccer season, Myers suffered from a panic attack that turned her whole life upside down. She was forced to quit her sport due to the mental health issues she faced and what she perceived as a lack of understanding from university staff and teammates. Her experiences created her resolve to found Mind4Athletes as a support to other student-athletes facing similar challenges.
Myers has played soccer since the age of four and was recruited by many colleges and universities to play Division I soccer, including Michigan, Stanford, Clemson, and the University of Pennsylvania, before choosing to accept the offer from Villanova. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa and is a member of Pi Alpha Alpha (Public Administration Honor Society) and Omicron Delta Kappa (a leadership honor society). Outside the classroom, Myers has secured relevant cross-sector professional experiences, including internships at the U.S. Department of Education Office of Communication and Outreach Philadelphia, Dallas Habitat for Humanity, the Department of Parks and Recreation at Hatfield Township in Hatfield, PA. She is an assistant soccer coach and gym teacher at the French International School in Bala Cynwd, PA.
