Nadine T. Jalandoni is Director of Research Services and the Nonprofit Almanac Project at INDEPENDENT SECTOR, a coalition of nonprofit and philanthropic organizations based in Washington, DC. In this capacity, she directs and co-authors IS’s signature publication, The Nonprofit Almanac which describes the size and scope of the nonprofit sector and its contributions to American society. She also manages other research projects including the Spring Research Forum, Research in Practice Seminars, and the Virginia Hodgkinson Research Prize. Prior to joining IS in 1999, Nadine was Associate Executive Director of a major corporate foundation in the Philippines. Before then she was Research Manager at the United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania based in Philadelphia for several years.
At IS she has authored publications including: “America’s Family Volunteers”, “America’s Informal Volunteers”, the 1999 Giving and Volunteering in the United States, and “Hispanic Giving and Volunteering”.
Ms. Jalandoni holds a B.S. Foreign Service degree from Georgetown University and a M.A. in International Development from American University.
