As an Administrator of Volunteer Resources, Pat Gillis began her career in 1979 in long-term/extended care in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. She has a BA from the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario.
Gillis invested her first 12 years managing volunteers in a seniors support/hospital environment. She spent the past 16 years leading a much larger volunteer component within the BC Children's Hospital & Sunny Hill Health Centre for Children (www.bcchildrens.ca) and the BC Women's Hospital & Health Centre (www.bcwomens.ca), a provincial tertiary health care facility supporting paediatrics, obstetrics and women's health.
