Martin Farrell

Martin Farrell has over thirty years experience in the voluntary and statutory sectors since working as a volunteer with young people in Manchester and in a handcraft charity in South Africa in the early 1970s. He has held senior positions in large (Red Cross and Save the Children), small (Centre for Crime and Justice Studies), and middle-size organisations (Sainsbury Centre for Mental Health), and has a broad range of experience of different professional areas including refugees, young people, crime, mentoring, corporate social responsibility and community development.

For the last three years he has been working freelance as an independent executive and consultant. Current clients include Exel plc, the Association of Chief Executives of Voluntary Organisations, Alcohol Concern, Crime Concern, Tesito, Shropshire County Council and the London Borough of Newham. He gives 10% of his time to working on a no-fee basis. He has been a trustee of the National Centre for Volunteering since 1995.
