Brenda is the manager of volunteer services at the Calgary Exhibition & Stampede (http://calgarystampede.com/) and, in that capacity, has been providing support, resources and training to the 2100 year-round volunteers, and the staff who work with them, for the past 2 ½ years.
Previous to the Stampede, Brenda was a volunteer manager at three different sites with the Calgary Health Region for twelve years. Brenda is a past President of the Association of Directors of Volunteer Resources (ADVR), has served on committees for the International Association for Volunteer Administration (AVA) and was a facilitator for Volunteer Calgary’s ‘Introduction to Volunteer Management’ program for four years.
In 2005, Brenda retired from the board of Volunteer Calgary where she had been a director for nine years and was made a life member of that organization. She also recently finished a five-year term as a director and vice-president on the board of the YWCA of Calgary.
Currently, Brenda volunteers with the Rainbow Society of Southern Alberta (http://www.rainbowsociety.ab.ca), which grants wishes to chronically and terminally ill children.
