Marie Broad

Marie Broad is a Senior Manager at Volunteer Centre Westminster and runs Time & Talents for Westminster (www.ttw.org.uk).  Time & Talents is a three sector partnership of private, public and voluntary sector organisations working together to benefit the City of Westminster through a range of employer-supported volunteering projects.

Broad was initially brought into the Centre in June 2006 to develop its Volunteering Partnership Award to recognise employer and community partners who develop innovative projects and sustainable partnerships.  She then took up her current role in April 2007, with responsibility over the joint Time & Talents programme of events; consultancy to individual employer and community organisations; strategic and business development of the social enterprise; and all aspects of running the scheme and its promotion.

Prior, Broad read Theology and completed a Masters in Ethics, going on to train as an RE Secondary School teacher.  She also spent two years working at the Foundation for People with Learning Disabilities, part of the Mental Health Foundation, editing the national newsletter and publishing several articles.

Broad is a passionate advocate of all forms of volunteering and has volunteered in Zimbabwe, Malawi and China, as well as in her hometown of London.  She currently mentors and befriends a neighbour with learning disabilities and has set up a Circle of Support network which enabled the person to get into paid employment.
