Advocating for Volunteerism: Shifting Conversations to What Matters
In May 2018, after a long and established career working in the areas of law and social advocacy, Kim Roots became a Coordinator of Volunteers for the very first time. As a newcomer to the Volunteer Engagement and Leadership field, Roots was able to view her new role through the eyes of her previous experiences. Specifically, she noted that there were ways that volunteer leaders, organisations and volunteers could better advocate for the important work they do. In this Engage feature article, Roots shares some of her thoughts and experiences on how to shift conversations to what matters to advocate for volunteerism.
